Lady Gaga

10 Attributes that make Lady Gaga (Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta) admirable:

1. Her passion for creating music as an art form and her success as a solo artist.

2. The links she creates between music, art and fashion as part of the "Haus".

3. How she raises awareness of issues such as bullying and mental health.

4. "I believe that if you have revolutionary potential, you must make the world a better place and use it." Her ambition to make the world not only as a whole but through talking to individuals inspires me through my love for social issues and ethics, personally I am passionate about making changes and creating art that affects people.

5. Her belief that everything you do can be a work of art and a reflection of yourself, and that even what you wear will say something about you and communicate a message, these messages can form "self love" and create confidence in many fans including myself.

6. Her music also contains extremely passionate lyrics which she writes herself, such as on the Born This Way Ball (tour) she sang a song called "Princess Die" which reflects on the damage fame can have on celebrities we adore.

7. I enjoy her music videos because they are a similar to a short film due to the conceptual reasons behind the videos they become pieces of artwork which are developed from the music into a visual form.

8. The connection she has with her fans through websites such as "little monsters" for example create chances for fans to express their own artwork and designs, this has proved to be successful as a student Illustrator from the Uk (Helen Green) was chosen to join the Haus Of Gaga.

9. Her outrageous performance ideas and willingness to be different makes her incredibly inspirational because it shows her stage presence and confidence to be known as different which gives her the power to express her opinions and be noticed.

10. I enjoy listening to her music and the positivity that it bring which can also help brighten my mood and help me stay focused and creative when doing my design work.

Other than my parents I find that Lady Gaga as a celebrity has had the most impact on my life not only recently but for the past couple of years as I have been maturing from school/ college. Her ever-growing list of pledges for charities and excellent causes for both america and social groups as a whole have been incredible. This has also impacted my own perceptions on social issues and has helped me keep up to date as well as inspire me to research myself on issues which are highlighted as well as a need/urge to help people and design work which impacts people and makes a difference. If I were to spend time with her I'd want to know how she comes with fame/criticism as well as any additional help she could offer such as advice for creatives and how to stay inspired.

Part 2:

In response to a presentation I was given the contact to Jack Dahl who worked on the branding for Lady Gaga's perfume "Fame". I was extremely shocked to be given the opportunity to contact such a wonderful designer as I thought such individuals would be incredibly out of touch for myself. However I was proved wrong in being told that most designers can be contacted and when I eventually gain enough confidence to do so I will be excited to do so. I wrote about Lady Gaga because I feel that personally she has had an effect on me both creatively and mentally- without concern for the task and whether or not I could contact, I felt I wanted to express how such a wonderful individual has effected many people, not only consumers but also designers in art, fashion and design industry.

The products are utterly fantastic and I have had the pleasure to browse through some of them pictured on the website, and of course personally bought the perfume pictured above in person. As mentioned above I stated that the persona of Lady Gaga is not just constructed through herself but of those who work with her.
"homework is a creative studio specialising in brand expression and communication within fashion, beauty, art, design and luxury. "

Questions I would ask include: In your opinion what's the most important thought when responding visually to a brief?
what/who inspires you?
I'm personally unsure on what to ask as i don't think I'm fully confident enough to begin contact yet.
